Abrasion Resistance | Some Freezer Environments |
- Mar-Less™ 37-RH is an aqueous based formulation that provides excellent abrasion resistance to a broad range of substrates and packaging environments. Mar-Less™ 37-RH is an aqueous based formulation that provides around 1000 strokes on a Sutherland Rub Tester dependent on substrate.
- Mar-Less™ 37-RH can be glued with cold-set adhesives or hot-melt adhesives. Spectra-Kote® can provide you with a detailed list of adhesives best suited for use with this coating.
Mar-Less™ 37-RH is over-printable using Flexographic presses. No primer is required before applying the ink. It is recommended that all inks be reviewed for suitability of ink coverage characteristics prior to production to ensure optimum printing results. - Mar-Less™ 37-RH has been designed for application with a Rod Coater. The coating can also be applied using industry standard gravure or flexo presses, and roll coaters with in-line or off-line production environments. Spectra-Kote® also offers pre-coated liners to help eliminate downtime associated with coating in-line at the corrugator.

properties are typical values and should not be interpreted as product specifications.- Mar-Less™ 37-RH is a non-hazardous water-based proprietary polymer coating designed for application on a wide array of paper substrates. On standard rod coating equipment normal coat weights are 1.5 – 5.0 wet pounds per 1000 MSF depending upon rod choice. Because all paper substrates vary in coat weight required to obtain desired performance values, a thorough examination of substrate/coating interaction should be performed to determine exact application rates. Spectra-Kote® is happy to facilitate substrate discussions between box maker and the end user of the carton to ensure the correct substrate/coating choice.
