USDA and FDA Compliance
Under the following United States Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration Requirements in the Federal Regulations book number twenty-one (21) as printed by the National Archives of the United States, the Spectra Guard series of coatings meet or exceed the standards set by the following sections:
175.105 - Adhesives
This product is cleared for use in accordance with this section.
175.300 - Resinous and polymeric coatings
This product is cleared for use in the accordance with this section.
175.320 - Resinous and polymeric coatings for polyolefin films
This product is not cleared for use in the accordance with this section.
176.170 - Components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods
For use in contact with aqueous or fatty foods in accordance with this section including elevated temperatures applicable for baking in microwaves and convention ovens.
176.180 - Components of paper and paperboard in contact with dry food
This product is not cleared for use in the accordance with this section, including elevated temperatures applicable for baking in microwaves and convention ovens.

European BfR/BGV Compliance
Spectra-Guard series of coatings also comply with the European BfR/BGV XIV, BfR/BGV XL and BfR/BGV XXX VI regarding contact with aqueous and fatty foods.
Canadian Compliance
The compliance further extends through all Canadian Health & Welfare regulations with a q5 category or packaging materials as designated by the food inspection directorate.
California Proposition 65
Spectra-Kote Corporation guarantees that none of the products used or produced contain in any concentration any of the chemicals listed by the State of California in its most recent version. The list of which is represented as Proposition 65.
This applies to all trade names used in the paper industry including Spectra-Shield™, Spectra-Guard™, Spectra-Release™, Sustaina-Guard™, Bake-Kote™, Sustaina-Kote™ and WAM™.
Heavy Metal Toxics Legislation
Spectra-Kote Corporation certifies that none of the products used or produced contain any intentionally added lead, mercury, cadmium, or hexavalent chromium. In addition, the total quantities of these metals do not exceed the standard set for the following regulatory requirements:
- CONEG
- EU Directive 94/62/EC
- Reduction of Toxics in Packaging
- ASTM963 Toy Standard
This applies to all trade names used in the paper industry including Spectra-Shield™, Spectra-Guard™, Spectra-Release™, Sustaina-Guard™, Bake-Kote™, Sustaina-Kote™ and WAM™.
Rabbinic Certification
Spectra-Guard™ Series Chemicals and Coatings comply with the USDA and FDA for packaging of meats and all other foodstuffs. The aforementioned Chemicals and Coatings menufactured by Spectra-Kote Corporation do not contain any animal derived materials. Nor does the formula contain any oils or fats extracted from animal products or ingredients that are transformed or reclassified under different identifications to mislead the producter, Spectra-Kote Corporation, or its customers.
Allergen Free Certification
Spectra-Kote Corporation certifies that the Spectra-Guard Series coatings do not contain any of the known allergens listed below, as it applies to the medical community or to the consumer community.
